Sure...
So mom and dad took me for a walk today. Had a lot of fun, except for the leash thing. Ahhh, it's a dog's life (bleah, lol). Saw the blond horse, some distant cows, and an annoying shih tzu with an overbloated sense of self-importance (yeah, chill out buddy). Anyway, it was pretty warm out here in Cowtown (i.e., Ferndale). Side note: I have no idea what "i.e." even means, go figure! So, to sum up my Saturday: Got up, shuffled around the house, and stuck my head between some curtains to see life just pass me by. Then mom abandoned me early in the wee wee hours of the morning YET AGAIN. Went outside for a while, then came back in for breakfast: Italian coffee and croissants (yeah right, I WISH). Actually, dog food and the bubbly H2O (you know, dorm standard). Then it's off to a few rounds with the dental dinosaur (good for the pearly off-whites, don'tcha know!) Hung out with the boys, till they had to leave for a couple of years. Then I spent an afternoon of quiet and solitary reflection in the backyard. When dad and the boys finally came back (was it decades or centuries later, hmm) I went into the house and checked out the chicks (our hens!) as they chirped away. I'm still getting use to those birds. When mom FINALLY got home we all took a walk and that brings me back to the beginning of this blog. So you see, the circle is now complete. Sure...

What Has Happened To My Backyard?
I would like to know what has happened to my backyard. I'm kind of irritated about the lack running space I have at the moment. On Saturday Mommy, Daddy, and my boys moved two of the boxes out of the garden space and moved one over. They then proceeded to make a big mess with the dirt. Daddy took a shovel and made a big rectangle. Mommy followed him with this thing and kept saying things like, "Level," "Too high," and "Too low." If I tried to come visit them they would tell me to get back.
After they finished this task, they carried out 3 big boxes, took out a bunch of poles, and put them in piles around the yard. They said they're building a greenhouse for Mommy. She says it's for growing food, but I don't like any of the things they're going to grow in there. She says she'll be planting carrots soon. I do like those, but they're going to be in the boxes Daddy built last year.
Yesterday they didn't build anything. They just kept me in the backyard while they had a bunch of kids at the house. I really think they should have let me in to play with everyone. There were about 30 kids and I would have really liked to play with them. They finally let me in for a few minutes before my good friends went home.
Today Mommy and the boys worked all day on that greenhouse after Daddy went to work. Now the greenhouse has 2 walls and they started on the other 2 walls (or so they say). It looks like a bunch of poles with metal attached to them.
I did get the chance to give them all some kisses while they worked. Mostly I was told to stay out of the garden and be careful with the big pieces of plastic.
Mommy says I'll like the greenhouse once it's done, especially in the winter. She says she'll spend more time outside with me, even when it's raining. That would be nice. I wonder if it will really happen. Anyway Daddy, Mommy, and the boys are all excited about this greenhouse thing. I must admit I am a little curious about it too.
Now I must go because I need to ask my Mommy to pet me.

To Whom It May Concern
On Thursday afternoon I heard Mommy teaching my oldest boy how to write a business letter during school time. Since I had a complaint I thought I would voice it in a manner I was sure she would understand, so here is my business letter.
Dear Madam:
I have a serious complaint. You have been busy cooking food which you will not allow me to eat. I sat in the kitchen and witnessed you empty all the food out of the refrigerator, but did not feed me any of it. While you were doing all these tasks you have not stopped to visit with me.
I strongly urge you to stop your various tasks in order to give me ear scratchles and belly rubbles.
Thank you for your prompt and courteous resolution of this problem.
Sincerely,
"Woof" Isaac

Oh Beautiful Me
Since you have gotten to know me a little better I thought I would show you some pictures to show how beautiful I am. I know I'm beautiful because everyone tells me so. Even strangers on the street stop to tell Mommy how beautiful I am. I'm sure you will agree.
Ode To The Tail
My tail, it spins round and round,
It smacks the sky, it smacks the ground,
It swishes swishes back and forth
And smacks everything east, west, south, and north
and so on and so forth.
My tail smacks against cups and bowls,
tortilla chips, pretzels, and biscuit rolls.
I don't mean to hit things, I really don't,
but my tail won't listen, it just won't.
But even though my tail is like a whip cord rope
Do you think I could or would get rid of it-
NOPE!

Crazy8s
Hello again! I thought I would tell you about crazy8's today. First you must understand that I'm half border collie, which means I'm very smart (if I must say so myself) and like to be active. I am also half black lab, which means I LOVE to play and be active. When I get excited I must RUN or I'll go crazy. Well...by the title of this blog entry you may think I go crazy even if I run. Sure it's true, I do get crazy, but it's SO FUN.
This is what I do. I ask to be let outside, and yes, I'll bark if no one gets the point soon enough. (Sometimes the people take a little while to get the point, unless I get loud). Once the door opens, I FLY! I fly right over the back porch. Once my feet hit the ground I run as if I were flying. I love to feel the wind in my beautiful long black fur. I run and fly all over the backyard in a big figure eight. I leap over boys if they are outside playing. I run as close to Mommy as I can and then dodge her (if she is playing with me, that is).
Just talking about them makes me want to go back outside and FLY!

I'm Sad Today
I'm sad today. Well, actually I've been sad since Sunday. You see, Mommy has been sick. She has been coughing and sneezing. I think she is better today because she is sitting up and being my secretary. She still doesn't feel like playing with me. Daddy brought her some medicine from the doctor yesterday. It makes her cough less, so I'm not as scared. I don't like when she coughs. I also get nervous when they turn on the bath. She's taken one every night. At least she has not asked me to keep her company in THAT room.
She has let me snuggle her. I like to hug her and look into her eyes while she pets me. I can't wait until she is all better and we can have a good romp.

Hello all,
It's me again (woof). I wanted to share something with you that I'm very proud of. Last month Mommy and Daddy went to Petco and bought two very special things for me: a leash and a collar. Both are brown and made of leather. The reason why they're so special is they make me feel all grown-up and very fancy. It shows that they love me.
I did get into some trouble when I first started wearing my collar. Mommy said I was forgetting who I was and what I was. I thought I should lead the way since I looked so fancy. I like to walk around with my fur parted so my collar shows.
Right now I'm trying to get Lamby out of my collar. My oldest boy put it there while playing with me. I can chew on Lamby, but I can't get him free. I guess I'll walk around smiling and wrestling with him. I've figured out how to squeak him, so I'll just lay down and squeak him while I wag my tail.
I'M SO SMART!!! I got Lamby free. Now I'll chase the boy around squeaking him.

My Indoor Toys
I love to play, who doesn't? Whether its with my boys, mommy, daddy, or anyone else, its fun. What makes it even more enjoyable is having my toys. Let me tell you about 'em. First, there's my two bones (one's pretty much a nubby stub), fun and good for the teeth (especially the canines, get it? tee hee). Then there's my red rubber knobby bone, a wonderful instrument for tug of war (the best when I'm doing this with my daddy). Finally, there are my stuffed toys: Basketball is a spongy ball with which I like to play fetch; Baby is technically not a stuffed toy (at least not anymore, my doing, oooops); Lamby is a favorite of mine (he's a squeaker), and it really shows (poor little guy hee hee); last of my stuffed animals is Ralph, a cute squeaky penguin complete with hat, scarf, and gloves (a little like the fourth doctor, you know Dr. Who, except with a different type of hat). I do like to play tug of war with my stuffed animals, but I have to be careful about getting too excited and pulling too hard (not easy for someone my age). Don't tell anybody, but I really wish that I could bring my toys outside. Mommy and Daddy say I can't, something about Reverse Archaeology... oh, well. Anyway, talk to yuy later.

My First Message To The Masses
Greetings and GOOD day! I'm SO excited to meet you. I know we're going to be great friends. I love meeting new friends and playing with old ones. Well, right now it's raining cats and you know what (rhymes with "blogs"), so the backyard is wet and cold. I think I'm just going to hang out behind the sofa, looking out into the big world through the curtains. I know in a moment, when Mom notices, I'll hear, "Out of the curtains, Isaac!"
Did you hear that thunder this morning? It scared me more than a big semi-truck starting its engine. Yes, I admit. I did bark at it. I think I showed it who's boss because I haven't heard it since. Thank goodness (because it was scary).
The good thing about hail is that I get to go for more car rides. Mom and Dad say it's not good to leave a dog in the hail. He might get hurt. I don't know about getting hurt, but I can tell you it's cold and wet out there.
I like playing with my toys and my boys. I'll tell you more about them later, because I have to go put my boys to bed. They are still awake and it's way past their bedtime. I'm ready for my bed, too
